"Rospotrebnadzor" blames "Vodokanal" for mass poisoning in Makhachkala

Eleven administrative cases have been instituted against the legal entities, which, in the opinion of "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) bosses, are guilty of the recent mass poisoning in Makhachkala. A lawsuit is being drafted to liquidate at least one company – the "Mahachkalavodokanal".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 27 residents of Makhachkala reported supply of dirty water after works at the Miatlinskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP). On October 27-31, 438 city residents, including 324 children, were hospitalized with signs of acute intestinal infection.

The authorities are preparing to liquidate "Mahachkalavodokanal", which was, in the opinion of Anna Popova, the head of the "Rospotrebnadzor", one of the main culprits of the mass poisoning of residents of the capital of Dagestan, the "Kommersant" reports.

Besides, 11 administrative cases have been initiated against the legal entities, guilty of the mass poisoning.
