In Quarter 3 of 2016, 60 persons fell victims to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

At least 58 people fell victims to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus in Quarter 3 of 2016. Of them, 47 people were killed and at least 11 people were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

Among the 49 killed persons, 39 were involved, according to law enforcement bodies, in activities of illegal armed formations (IAFs), five – were law enforcers, and five – were civilians.

Of the 11 wounded persons, 10 are law enforcers, and one is a civilian.

The Republic of Dagestan remains the "hottest spot" of Northern Caucasus – for the period from July 1 to September 30, in the course of the armed conflict, at least 56 people suffered there: 45 were killed and 11 wounded. The death toll includes five law enforcers, 36 persons involved, according to law enforcers, in IAFs, and four civilians. Among the wounded ones, there were 10 law enforcers and one civilian.

In Kabardino-Balkaria, in Quarter 3 of 2016, three alleged members of the armed underground were killed.

In the same period, in the Stavropol Territory, one civilian was killed.

In Quarter 3 of 2016, in Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania and the Chechen Republic no victims of the armed conflict were recorded.
