On December 3, the CTO legal regime was introduced in the territory of the village of Talghi of the Leninsky District of Makhachkala. Law enforcers cordoned off a private house, which sheltered men suspected of involvement in the armed underground. When offered to surrender, the suspects opened fire on law enforcers, and five militants were killed as a result of an armed clash. One of the suspects was identified as Rustam Asilderov, aka Abu Muhammad, born in 1981, the leader of the "Vilayat of Caucasus", a unit of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia. Besides, four militants of his direct subordinates were also killed. On December 4, the CTO legal regime in the village of Talghi was lifted. The special operation involved heavy vehicles.
