Military experts support dismissals of contract soldiers for refusal to go to Syria

The refusal of militaries to go to Syria is the reason to break contracts with them, said the military experts, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot". The contract servicemen must fulfil out the orders of their commanders, said Alexander Khramchikhin.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 6, a video record was posted on the Internet showing that militaries had been sent to Syria from a suburb of Grozny. In total, 500 members of the consolidated regiment of military police, said a source from local power agencies.

On December 13, it was reported that 12 militaries from the units of the Ministry of Defence (MoD), stationed at the Khankala military base, located near Grozny, were fired for their refusal to go to Syria.

A refusal of a serviceman to fulfil the terms of his service may be officially registered in the contract, said Pavel Zolotaryov, the deputy director of the Institute of USA and Canada and the President of the Foundation in Support of Military Reforms.

A break of the contract on the initiative of a serviceman is possible, but with the financial losses for himself, said Evgeny Krutikov, a political scientist and a military expert.

There is no confirmation of the departure of military police units to Syria, said Pavel Zolotaryov.

The sending of militaries may indicate the participation of Russian troops in the terrain operation in Syria, Denis Sokolov, the head of the RAMCOM Research Centre, believes.
