Criminal case opened on attack on "Caucasian Knot" correspondent

The article, under which a criminal case has been opened on the attack on Vladislav Ryazantsev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, committed in Rostov-on-Don, provides for up to two years in prison.

Ryazantsev was beaten up on January 10 near the building of the Rostov regional government. The journalist was attacked by five men; fortunately, passers-by interfered. Doctors diagnosed a fractured wrist in Ryazantsev.

As specified by Victoria Tkachenko, the press-secretary of the Chief Department for the Rostov Region of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the case was opened under the article of "Beatings".

Let us remind you that "Russian National Socialists" have claimed responsibility for the attack.
