Azerbaijani builders released from police station in Derbent

More than 200 Azerbaijani builders have been released from the Derbent police after their documents had been checked and the protocols on administrative violations were drawn up against them. This was reported by an official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that 205 Azerbaijani citizens were detained after the raid of the migration service in Derbent. They were kept at a MIA's gym during four days. In Derbent, the migrants were engaged in construction of the third stage of houses under the federal programme "Dilapidated Housing".

According to the Dagestani MIA, the department for migration was engaged in the raid to identify illegal immigrants on construction sites in Derbent.

"Migration documents of 172 people were in order; however, they had no patent for professional activities in our country. Administrative protocols were drawn up against them. 33 people had no patents or migration cards at all. Court pronounced the decision to deport them out of the country, and they should leave the country voluntarily," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by an official of the press service of the Dagestani MIA.

Meanwhile, according to the MIA's official, "at present, all the detainees have been already released."
