Court finds Caucasian natives guilty of plotting terror act in Moscow

The Moscow District Military Court has pronounced the verdict of guilty in the case against Aslan Baisultanov, a native of Chechnya, and two members of his grouping, charged of plotting an explosion in Moscow. They were sentenced to 3-14 years of imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 11, 2015, in Moscow, ten people were detained on suspicion of involvement in the preparation of a terror act. Of them, three were taken into custody. According to law enforcers, the detainees were trained in Syrian camps of the terrorist organization "Islamic State", banned in Russia. The defendants pleaded partially guilty, and their advocates claimed unfounded charges.

Today, the Court has announced the verdict in the case and sentenced Aslan Baisultanov to 14 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony, Elman Ashaev to 12 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony, and Mokhmad Mezhidov to 3 years of imprisonment in a common-security penal colony.

Besides, the Court has also sentenced Aslan Baisultanov and Elman Ashaev to fines of 400,000 and 350,000 roubles, respectively, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
