Two persons killed in special operation in Azerbaijan

The persons killed during the today's special operation in Azerbaijan have been identified as Azer Guseinov and Ali Islamov; weapons and explosives were found on them, the State Security Service (SSS) has announced.

According to the SSS, a special operation was conducted in a residential area after the information was received that a criminal grouping had brought smuggled weapons into the country "for committing especially grave crimes."

At the detention attempt, two men rendered armed resistance to power agents and were killed, said the SSS press service as quoted by the “APA” news agency.

The killed suspects have been identified as Ali Islamov and Azer Guseinov. A submachine gun, three pistols, explosives weighing 400 and 75 grams and a lot of ammunition were found at the place of the special operation, the "Sputnik Azerbaijan" reports referring to the press service of the SSS.

So far, no comments have been received from relatives of the killed persons. The settlement, in which the operation was conducted, is not specified by the SSS.
