3000 people visit triennial in Moscow

On the first day of the triennial, the "Garage" museum of contemporary art, where works of 68 painters, including from Southern of Russia, are presented, was visited by 3000 people.

The exhibition is the result of the study, conducted by the "Garage" curators, who visited over 40 cities of Russia and met more than 200 painters aged from 19 to 69 years.

"The study lasted for about eight months and began in 2015. We split the map of Russia into six areas by the number of curators; among other areas, Northern Caucasus was in my zone. We had no preliminary lists, but we had agents, our helpers – they helped us in finding painters and interacting with them," Ekaterina Inozemtseva, one of the curators, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her story, the opening of the exhibition for media, artists and partners took place on March 9; over 1800 people were present. On the following day, on March 10, the exhibition was visited by 3000 people, Ms Inozemtseva has added.

The exhibition presents works by painters from the republics of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) and the Krasnodar Territory, namely: Aslan Gaisumov (Chechnya), Anna Kabisova and Evgenia Ivanova (North Ossetia), Taus Makhacheva and Murad Khalilov (Dagestan), Mikhail Smaglyuk (Krasnodar), the art group "Zip", and Zaurbek Tsugaev.
