In Prokhladnensky District, 25 truck drivers participate in protest action against "Platon" system

In Kabardino-Balkaria, participants of the truck drivers' protest action have appealed to the authorities with a request to completely cancel the "Platon" system. The protest action will continue until the demands of the truck drivers are met. This was reported by a representative of the truck drivers on protest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 27, Russian truck drivers resumed their mass protests against the "Platon" system introduced to collect fees from drivers of heavy trucks for travelling on federal roads. The truck drivers' protest action took place in Volgograd, Astrakhan, Baksan, North Ossetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, and Dagestan.

Today, drivers of 25 trucks, and grain trucks from various villages and towns of Kabardino-Balkaria take part in the protest action near the village of Proletarskoe of the Prokhladnensky District. This was reported by Alexander Tyutyulnikov, the deputy chairman of the public organization "Protection of Drivers".

According to Alexander Tyutyulnikov, the police do not prevent the protest action. A member of the NGO has also noted that the authorities ignore the protest.

The number of truck drivers on protest could be higher; however, the roads to the town of Prokhladnensky from Baksan and Maisky are closed for trucks, reports civil activist Anastasia Emelyanova.
