Astrakhan Regional Duma asks federal centre to review tariffs of "Platon" system

Deputies of the Astrakhan Regional Duma have adopted an appeal to the government of the Russian Federation and both chambers of the Russian Federal Assembly on the need to revise the tariffs for cargo transportation. Deputies recognized taxes imposed owners of heavy vehicles as excessive.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Astrakhan truck drivers joined the All-Russian protest against the "Platon" system and declared it to be unlimited.

The website of the Astrakhan Regional Duma reports that, according to deputies, the concept of "fee per ton" has only exacerbated the financial problems of the industry, which will result in significant financial losses and bankruptcy of companies engaged in cargo transportation.

Earlier, members of the government for the Astrakhan Region have agreed with the protesters on the creation of an association of truck drivers.
