VTsIOM: Russian citizens express more trust to Ramzan Kadyrov

According to the results of a joint survey carried out by the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (known as VTsIOM) and the "Medialogy" Company, the level of the people's trust and respect to Ramzan Kadyrov has increased in comparison with the past year.

This year, according to sociologists, 42% of respondents voiced their respect to Ramzan Kadyrov, whereas in 2016, 31% of respondents stated the same. The trust to Ramzan Kadyrov was stated by 24% of respondents (in comparison with 15% in 2016). 23% of Russian citizens said that the Chechen leader enjoys their sympathy (16% in 2016), 8% – that he enjoys their hope (5% in 2016), and 1% – their love (0% in 2016).

This year, 8% of respondents claimed their distrust to Ramzan Kadyrov, whereas in 2016, there were 9% of such residents. Some Russian citizens expressed other feelings with regard to the Chechen leader: antipathy – 4%, fear – 2%, disappointment – 2% (1% in 2016), condemnation – 1%, and hatred – 1%, the sociological survey reports.

When asked about the recent decisions and initiatives of Ramzan Kadyrov best remembered by the people, 10% of respondents said about the activities aimed at the development of Chechnya and economic growth, 9% about the fight against terrorism, 5% about the putting things in order in the republic, the results of the survey report.
