Law enforcers identify suspects killed in Dagestan as members of "Kadar" grouping
According to the law enforcement agencies, the militants killed in the Buynaksk District of Dagestan were involved in an assassination attempt on the head of the administration for the village of Karamakhi and cases of extortion of money from entrepreneurs. The leader of the "Kadar" militant grouping was identified among the killed suspects.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening of May 18, four armed people were killed in the village of Karamakhi in the Buynaksk District.
"Those bandits represented the rest of the 'Kadar' militant grouping, which organizational core was liquidated last year. In the course of the procedure for identification of the killed suspects, the leader and his accomplices, who acted with particular cruelty, were identified," the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reports.
Members of the "Kadar" militant grouping are suspected of involvement in numerous terrorist crimes, including the murder of the head of the administration for the village of Karamakhi and cases of extortion of large amounts of money from entrepreneurs, the "Interfax" reports.
On October 1, 2015, the body of Migitin Djavadov, the head of the administration for the village of Karamakhi, was found in the forest of the Karabudakhkent District. On September 30, he was kidnapped from his house by armed men in masks who pretended to be law enforcers.
During the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime introduced in the Buynaksk District on April 20, law enforcers discovered armed men in a private house in the village of Karamakhi, cordoned them off and offered to surrender. However, the suspects opened fire at the law enforcers and were killed by return fire.
