Journalists associate attempt on Adam Osmaev with murder of Ramzan Kadyrov's bodyguard
An attempt on Adam Osmaev and his wife Amina Okueva has been committed by Arthur Denisultanov (Kurmakaev), a native of Chechnya, also known as "Dingo", several Ukrainian and Russian edition report with reference to sources. Arthur Kurmakaev was involved as a suspect in the case of the murder in Vienna of Umar Israilov, a bodyguard of Ramzan Kadyrov.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), an attacker "pretended to be a foreign journalist and got into the confidence of Adam Osmaev and Amina Okueva and shot at Adam Osmaev. His wife "opened fire and seriously wounded the killer." The condition of Adam Osmaev was assessed as severe.
According to the "Fontanka", Arthur Denisultanov (Kurmakaev) lived in Saint Petersburg since the early 1990s. In 1999, he was detained in the case of extortion. Later, he was released in exchange for Sergey Leontiev, a Russian prisoner of war, and left for Chechnya. In 2009, Arthur Denisultanov was detained in Austria in the case of the Umar Israilov's murder.
Umar Israilov, who was granted political asylum in Austria in 2006, filed a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), in which he claimed that Ramzan Kadyrov was personally involved in killings, torture, and kidnappings of people. Umar Israilov was killed in Vienna on January 13, 2009.
On June 1, 2011, the court found Otto Kaltenbrunner (Ramzan Edilov) guilty of the Umar Israilov's murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.
According to investigators, in May-June 2008, Arthur Kurmakaev visited Vienna on behalf of the authorities of Chechnya with the task of bringing Umar Israilov back to Chechnya.
Ramzan Kadyrov himself has repeatedly assured that he was not involved in the murder of Umar Israilov.
