Police release Murad Amriev detained near Bryansk

The police have released Murad Amriev, a world champion in MMA, who was declared blood feud in Chechnya, the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 4, in the Bryansk Region, Murad Amriev was detained on the charge of using a counterfeit document when he was returning to Moscow from abroad.

Human rights defenders have said that a top-ranking Chechen policeman had declared a blood feud against Murad Amriev, and they feared that the transfer to Chechnya could endanger the athlete's life.

At present, Murad Amriev stays with his advocates, members of the Committee for the Prevention of Torture, his relatives, and journalists, the "Novaya Gazeta" reports.

According to the newspaper's information, the transfer of Murad Amriev to Chechen policemen was prevented after the intervention of Mikhail Fedotov, the leader of the HRC, and senior officials of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
