Assassination attempt on Ramzan Kadyrov to be considered by Gudermes City Court

Three residents of Chechnya Aziz Alviev, Beslan Zakaraev, and Shamkhan Magomadov will appear before the court. Investigators treat Isa Yamadaev, an officer of the "Vostok" (East) battalion, as a person who ordered an assassination attempt on the leader of Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in September 2016, it became known about the prevention of another attempt on the leader of Chechnya. Three suspects were detained, including Shamkhan Magomadov, Beslan Zakaraev, and Aziz Alviev. Investigators believed that the failed attempt was organized by members of the Yamadaev family, with whom two out of the three detainees are associated.

The Yamadaev family is a Chechen clan, no less well known than the Kadyrov family. Earlier, Isa and Badrudi, the survived brothers of killed Sulim Yamadaev, a former commander of the "Vostok" battalion, and killed Ruslan (Khalid) Yamadaev, a former State Duma deputy, have expressed their confidence that the authorities of Chechnya were involved in the killings of their brothers. Ramzan Kadyrov categorically denied his involvement in those crimes.

The criminal case of an assassination attempt on the Chechen leader was received by the Gudermes City Court. The defendants, including Aziz Alviev, a former bodyguard of Isa Yamadaev, Beslan Zakaraev, a former fighter of the "Vostok" battalion, and his neighbour Shamkhan Magomadov, have completely admitted their guilt. So, the case will be considered in a special order.

The case materials have just been submitted to the Court, and the preliminary date for the hearings has not yet been appointed.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by an NGO leader that there is much confusion in the case of plotting an assassination attempt on the leader of Chechnya, and it looks like Ramzan Kadyrov used a convenient pretext and "decided to crack down on the remaining Yamadaev brothers."

On June 8, the "Rosbalt" reported with reference to its sources that Ramzan Kadyrov was formally recognized as a victim in the criminal case. The materials against Isa Yamadaev, whom the investigation believe to be a person who ordered and organized the assassination attempt on the leader of Chechnya, have been separated from materials against other defendants and handed over to military investigators, the "Rosbalt" reports. Aziz Alviev, Beslan Zakaraev, and Shamkhan Magomadov testified against Isa Yamadaev.
