Twin brother of Ingush Olympic Judo Champion wins first place at competitions in China

Khusein Khalmurzaev, a judoka from Ingushetia, won the Grand Prix Hohhot 2017 in China in the weight category of up to 90 kg.

The tournament was held in the city of Hohhot. In the finals of the European Championship in 2017, Khusein Khalmurzaev defeated Alexander Kukol from Serbia, reports the official website of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports for the Republic of Ingushetia.

Khusein Khalmurzaev is a brother of Khasan Khalmurzaev, the 2016 Olympic Champion, the silver medallist of the 2015 Universiade held in the city of Gwangju, and the bronze medallist of the 2017 European Championship held in Warsaw, the "judoinside.com" reports.

After Khasan Khalmurzaev had won the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov ordered to build a specialized judo hall. Meanwhile, the coaches questioned by the "Caucasian Knot" have noted that judo is the most popular kind of sport in Ingushetia, but there are not enough judo halls in the republic and therefore coaches have to refuse many children.
