NKR accuses Azerbaijan of 180 bombardments per week

On July 23-29, the Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire in the Karabakh conflict zone for 180 times, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the period of July 16-22, the NKR counted 200 cases of shelling of its positions from the Azerbaijani side.

On July 23-29, the armed forces of Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire 180 times by using small arms, and on the north side of the contact line, the Azerbaijani side used 60-mm mortar launchers, the NKR’s MoD reports.

"The advanced forces of the NKR Defence Army have refrained from retaliatory actions," the MoD has noted.

During the period from July 23 to July 29, the Azerbaijani MoD regularly announced the cases of shelling from the Armenian side, and in total, it counted 981 cases of the ceasefire violation. According to the Azerbaijani MoD, only during the past day, the Azerbaijani positions were shelled for 133 times.

Earlier, on July 22, the parties to the conflict published statistics of shelling for the period since the early 2017. Azerbaijan claimed more than 20,000 cases of shelling of its positions, and the NKR reported that for half a year, the Azerbaijani side broken the ceasefire about 9,000 times.
