First group of Chechen pilgrims returns from Hajj
Last night, a group of 150 residents of Chechnya, who committed their Hajj at the expense of the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation, flew to Grozny from Saudi Arabia, the republic's Muftiate reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the first group of Chechen pilgrims left Grozny for Saudi Arabia on August 18; and the last one – on August 24.
This year, Chechnya failed to take up the allocated pilgrim quota; the reason being in the increased travel cost – on the average, 3100 US dollars this year.
The Muftiate has reported that this year 2600 residents of Chechnya are making their Hajj to Mecca, adding that the remaining pilgrims will return from Saudi Arabia within a week.
