Investigators verify report on beating children in Dagestan

On a website of one of the federal news agencies, investigators discovered the information stating a resident of Buynaksk ill-treated adopted children.

On September 28, a federal news agency reported that a Buynaksk resident cruelly beat young girls and failed to fulfil his duties on their upbringing. This was reported by the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

Investigators have launched the pre-investigation check, and a procedural decision will be made following its result, the website of the ICRF's Department for Dagestan reports.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in March 2016, investigators instituted a criminal case after complaints about ill-treatment of children in the boarding school "Zabota" in Makhachkala. The investigation was provoked by an appeal of the State Duma member, who in his letter referred to the fact that more than 10,000 signatures were collected in one of the social networks under the complaint stating that "for a long time, educators committed unlawful actions" against children in the boarding school.
