In Grozny, first 73 theologians graduate from Islamic University
Graduates of the Kunta-Khadji Kishiev University, who got their diplomas on October 2, will be able to work for the Muftiate of Chechnya and teach in madrassas.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Russian Islamic University was opened in Chechnya in 2009.
There are two faculties at the University, including the Faculty for Sharia Sciences and the Faculty for Theology.
"Diplomas in the specialty of 'theology' were granted to 73 people, including 18 young women. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov handed over the diplomas to the most distinguished students," said an official from the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) for Chechnya.
In connection with the opening of the Faculty for Theology, there is an opportunity to ensure high quality training of specialists, reported Abdurakhim Mutushev, Rector of the University.
"The teaching quality corresponds to the level of the leading Islamic universities throughout the world. All the teachers studied at the famous Islamic universities in Syria, Egypt, and other countries," Abdurakhim Mutushev has added.
He has noted that more than 500 students study at the University, including residents of other regions of Russia. The lectures are delivered in Chechen, Russian, and Arabic.
According to the Muftiate of Chechnya, in the Chechen Republic, there are also the Akhmat-Khadji Kadyrov Islamic Institute six Hafiz schools to teach children under 10 years old (schools for believers who recite the Koran by heart), as well as 20 madrassas and 4 branches thereof.
