Special and counterterrorist operations

Detentions and kidnappings

On October 26, Alim Chervaev, 28, was kidnapped in the city of Mozdok North Ossetia, his relatives reported. According to their version, about 16 armed men broke into the premise in the Mozdok marketplace, where Alim worked with his mother. They grasped the man and took him to some unknown place. On October 27, relatives managed to find out that Alim Chervaev was kept in the IVS (temporary detention facility) of the Mozdok District. Law enforcers claimed that they had found firearms and drugs on him; however, his acquaintances describe him as a calm person. They associate Alim's prosecution with the death of his elder brother and the recent shelling of policemen in the settlement of Predmostny.

Disappearances

On October 21, Petimat Mamaeva, a resident of the settlement Chernorechye, Zavodskoy District of Grozny, returned home. On September 6, two people in camouflage came to her house and took Petimat Mamaeva with them, saying that she would write an explanatory note and return. For a month and a half, her relatives knew nothing of her fate. On October 19, in WhatsApp, a video message was posted to Ramzan Kadyrov by Petimat's mother. The weeping woman asked to help to return her 28-year-old daughter Petimat home. The appeal caused public outcry in the republic.

On October 25, a resident of Grozny told the police about the disappearance of his 16-year-old daughter. The girl was last seen on October 24.
