Two law enforcers wounded in CTO near Nalchik

Two special troop's fighters received contusions during the armed clash in the Urvan District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), where a militant was killed, a law enforcement source has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 15, policemen tried to stop a suspicious car near the village of Urvan in the KBR's Urvan District; men in the car opened fire on them. The Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) announced liquidation of one militant. The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the district.

The casualty was identified as Urusov, a 29-year-old KBR resident. According to law enforcers, he was an adherent of a "religious extremist ideology."

In the course of the CTO, two law enforcers were injured, said a law enforcement source.

"One of the attackers, while trying to escape, threw a grenade at policemen; as a result, two of them were slightly contused," the RIA "Novosti" has quoted its source.

There were two attackers; Aslan Urusov, born in 1988, was killed; law enforcers are identifying the second one, who managed to escape, the "Ren-TV" has reported.
