After gas explosion, Sochi residents accuse authorities of negligence
Akop Pogosyan, who received a burn of 90% of his body surface during the explosion of balloon gas in the Lazarevskoe District of Sochi, came to consciousness. Experts did not check the gas equipment in his house for 15 years; and officials ignore residents' requests to gasify the dwelling settlement, Akop's relatives have stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the explosion of balloon gas occurred in a private non-gasified house in the Lazarevskoe District of Sochi on December 17. As a result of the explosion, one person was injured.
This afternoon, the victim, a 29-year-old Akop Pogosyan, came to consciousness. Doctors sent him by ambulance to Krasnodar, where the young man will undergo treatment at the Territorial Clinical Hospital No.1, Kristina Tativosyan, Akop's wife, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Ludvig Tativosyan, Kristina's father, treats the indifference of the officials in charge of the safety of the residents of the non-gasified settlement as the reason for the tragedy in his family. "All the houses in the settlement are non-gasified; and people have to buy LNG balloons. Earlier, they always checked the condition of these balloons, but everything stopped in 2003. Since then, nobody visited us and nobody checked the gas cylinders; that is, all our residents are potential victims of the negligence of the officials and those in charge for gas. The problem is that now no one is responsible for anything. We, people, are of nobody's care, although we are constantly asking to control gasification and gasify our settlement," Ludvig Tativosyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
