Six Chechens detained in Egypt

Natives of Chechnya, who lived in Cairo, were detained and placed to a deportation prison. This is reported by a member of the Dagestani Diaspora in Egypt.

The Egyptian authorities intend to deport to Russia six Chechen natives detained during a raid in the Faidurrakhman District of Cairo. Residents of the district, traditionally populated by immigrants from the former USSR, were detained right in their apartments, a source reported.

"Ten people were detained, and six of them were Chechens... One of them takes care of four minor children. At present, he is to be deported, although he has a residence permit," reported the member of the Dagestani Diaspora as quoted by the "Kavkaz.Realii".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in September, the Egyptian authorities deported to Russia Dagestani native Asiyat Abdulkarimova with her seven children. Her relative said that the woman and her children legally lived in Egypt, but after her unsuccessful attempt to obtain asylum in Ukraine their residence permit was revoked.
