Speleologists start studying Sary-Tala caves in Kabardino-Balkaria

The Moscow speleological club "Perovo" and the Kabardino-Balkarian public organization "Sozidanie" organized an expedition to study the caves of the Sary-Tala tract. The expedition will last until January 12.

The expedition included members of regional branches of the Russian Geographical Society. Besides, the expedition also involves Pawel Krawczyk, a British speleologist of Polish origin, the RIA "Kabardino-Balkaria" reported on January 2.

It is planned to study the caves in two stages. At the first stage, cave explorers will carry out a topographic survey of caves known to speleologists and also organize a search for new entries to those caves. At the second stage, the speleologists will explore the terrain to find new caves. During the entire expedition period, samples of soil and water, as well as specimens of local fauna, will be taken.
