Resident of Makhachkala dies at police station

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan has scheduled an inspection to be conducted after a detained resident of Makhachkala had died in the ROVD (District Interior Division) for the Sovietsky District.

On January 5, a local resident, born in 1955, was brought to the ROVD for the Sovietsky District in Makhachkala. Several days later, he died for unidentified reasons.

"A 63-year-old man in a state of alcoholic intoxication was taken to the Sovietsky ROVD on suspicion of inflicting knife wounds to another man. The suspect was placed to a special room in the ROVD. However, on January 7, he stopped producing any sign of life ... The other man who was stabbed stays in the hospital now," reported the spokesman of the Dagestani MIA as quoted by the newspaper "Novoe Delo".
