Lithuania imposes sanctions against Ramzan Kadyrov

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and some of his subordinates have been included by Lithuania in the Magnitsky List of sanctions.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2017, the US Department of Treasury included Ramzan Kadyrov to the Magnitsky List of sanctions and called him responsible for extrajudicial executions, torture, and other human rights violations in Chechnya.

On January 15, the Migration Department of Lithuania published its version of the Magnitsky List of sanctions.

The list of 49 Russian citizens who banned from entering Lithuania includes Ramzan Kadyrov, Apti Alaudinov, Chechen Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, and Ayub Kataev, the chief of the Argun OVD (Interior Division), reports the website of the Migration Department of Lithuania.

Alvi Karimov, the press secretary to Ramzan Kadyrov, has called the decision of the Lithuanian authorities "a dummy that does not deserve attention" of the Chechen leader.
