POC member not let to Navalny's supporters detained in Volgograd

About 50 people were detained during an unsanctioned march in support of the "Voters' Strike" in Volgograd; about ten of them were released, Alexander Efimov, a member of the regional Public Oversight Commission (POC) said.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today a number of Russian cities held actions in support of "Voters' Strike", whose supporters call for a boycott of the upcoming Russian presidential election.

About 300 supporters of Alexei Navalny took part in all-Russian "Voters' Strike" in Volgograd.

Alexander Efimov said that after the detention of protesters, he went to the Tsentralny ROVD (District Interior Division) to check the custody conditions of the detainees.

"They didn't let me in. The deputy head of the ROVD came out and said that everyone was busy and told me to wait for his boss. While I was standing there, some ten detainees were released. They told me that in total about 50 persons were taken to the ROVD. The officer on duty at the checkpoint told me that protocols on administrative offenses were being drawn up against the detainees, Alexander Efimov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Vyacheslav Yaschenko, a "Caucasian Knot", was among the detainees. He was released from the ROVD in half an hour without a protocol.
