Ramzan Kadyrov loses leading positions in rating of popular politicians in Russia

In 2017, the media mentioned Ramzan Kadyrov twice less often than oppositionist Alexei Navalny, the "Medialogia" reports. Meanwhile, the leader of Chechnya fell into the top five most mentioned politicians.

Ramzan Kadyrov was in demand in the media in 2017, the "Kommersant" reports. 174,000 messages were dedicated to him, and the Chechen leader took the fifth place in the rating prepared by the "Medialogia".

Meanwhile, last year, Ramzan Kadyrov was most often mentioned because of his inclusion in the US sanctions list and blocking of his accounts in Facebook and Instagram.

The media dedicated to Navalny 314,000 messages. He closes the top three and he was most often mentioned in connection with the protests in June and October 2017, as well as after his refusal to be registered as a candidate in the presidential election.

The leader of Chechnya also occupies the fifth place in the rating by citation: last year, his statements were quoted 81,400 times. This is slightly less than that of Navalny (84,300 times).

In February 2013, according to the "Medialogia", the Ramzan Kadyrov's citation index reached 14.22, and he topped the citing rating of bloggers-governors. As noted, that was facilitated by the fact that Ramzan Kadyrov started an account in Instagram and personally comments on the posts of his readers.
