Ilham Aliev takes office as President of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan held the ceremony of inauguration of President Ilham Aliev, who took the post for the fourth time in a row.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the early presidential election of Azerbaijan was held on April 11. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the country, 86.02% of voters gave their voices to Ilham Aliev.

Ilham Aliev took the oath by laying his hand on the Constitution of Azerbaijan and on the Koran. Then he delivered an extensive speech, the "Sputnik-Azerbaijan" reports.

After the inauguration, Ilham Aliev and his family members visited the Alley of Honour, where they laid a wreath to the grave of Heydar Aliev, the APA reports.

Ilham Aliev, whose victory at the election has not been doubted by anyone, will rule Azerbaijan until 2025.

Let us remind you that the opposition called the presidential election illegitimate, and on April 14, participants of a rally in Baku demanded to cancel the election outcome. The CEC of Azerbaijan reported that the presidential election had taken place without significant violations.
