In case if Nikol Pashinyan is elected the Prime Minister, the main mission of his government will be to initiate extraordinary parliamentary elections.

On April 23, after mass protests, Serzh Sargsyan resigned as the Prime Minister of Armenia. The parliamentary discussion concerning the election of the Prime Minister is scheduled for May 1.

Today, the "Elk" faction of the National Assembly of Armenia has formally nominated Nikol Pashinyan to become the Prime Minister, reports Edmon Marukyan, a delegate of the "Elk" faction, as quoted by the "NEWS.am".

He believes "all the MPs who are concerned over the statehood and the normal life of the country will vote for Nikol Pashinyan."
