Nikol Pashinyan gets a new chance to become Prime Minister of Armenia

Today, Nikol Pashinyan has gathered signatures of one third of the MPs necessary for nomination to the post of the Prime Ministers of Armenia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) decided to support a candidate, who would be represented by the third of MPs. The RPA refused to nominate its candidate.

On May 1, the MPs did not elect Nikol Pashinyan the Prime Minister of Armenia. Meanwhile, he was the only candidate. According to the Constitution, the new election should be held in a week, on May 8. If the Prime Minister is not elected by a majority of the MPs' votes, the Parliament will be dissolved. Meanwhile, the RPA will have a chance to keep its seats in the Parliament.

Let us remind you that on May 2, Nikol Pashinyan's supporters held large-scale protest actions. As a result, railway transportation was completely stopped in Armenia and the traffic in Yerevan was paralyzed.
