Chechnya to have four free days to celebrate Eid al-Fitr
The authorities of Chechnya declared the days off for June 15-June 18 in connection with the holiday of Eid al-Fitr. Meanwhile, local theologians have not yet decided on the date for completion of Ramadan, the month of fasting.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 17, Chechnya, like Dagestan, started the fasting in honour of the holy month of Ramadan. In the issue of fasting, the Muftiates of Chechnya and Dagestan did not share the opinion of the Russian Council of Muftis, which declared the beginning of Ramadan on May 16.
The decree on holidays in Chechnya in connection with the end of the Ramadan fasting was signed by Abubakar Edelgeriev, the chair of the government of the Chechen Republic.
Meanwhile, local theologians have not yet announced the date for the completion of the Ramadan fasting. According to the Muftiate, the last day of Ramadan will be determined in the evening on May 14.
"If a new moon appears in the sky in the evening on June 14, then June 15 will be the first day of Eid al-Fitr. If the new moon does not appear, then the holiday will be on the other day," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was explained by an official from the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) for Chechnya.
Let us remind you that residents of Chechnya complained about an increase in prices before the end of Ramadan, despite the fact that the Mufti of the Chechen Republic called on sellers not to raise prices on the eve of Eid al-Fitr.
