Over 41,000 attend Belgium-Japan match at Rostov-Arena

The Belgian team has beaten the Japanese one 3:2 in a 1/8 final match of the FIFA World Cup held in Rostov-on-Don. Fans from different countries watched the meeting in the fan zone in Theatre Square.

A few hours before the match, fans held a march on the Voroshilov Bridge, which is closed for traffic. One of the brightest events of the march was a dance performed by Krishnaites, who were joyfully supported by fans from many countries.

On the way to the stadium, fans of the Belgian national team sat en masse on the asphalt and performed their football anthem, jokingly threatening with taken off shoes to their rivals, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reported.

Despite a thorough inspection at the entrance to the stadium, all the fans managed to take their seats by the start of the match.

Almost 2000 seats remained vacant – the official capacity of the Rostov-Arena during the World Cup is 43,472 seats. The Belgium-Japan match was attended by 41,466 spectators, the edition named "R-Sport" has reported.

Some of the fans of both teams, who could not get tickets to the stadium, watched the match within the fan zone organized in Theatre Square.
