Version of appealer to Kadyrov's illness reminds public humiliations practised in Chechnya
Public humiliations of Ramzan Kadyrov's critics and announcement of the persons turning to the head of Chechnya to be crazy make one doubt the mental disorder of the local resident, who has declared vegetables grown in the republic as harmful. This is the opinion of experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".
The message about the harm of the agricultural products, produced in Chechnya by Chinese, appeared on the WhatsApp in July. Ramzan Kadyrov refuted this information.
The stories about allegedly mentally ill critics of Kadyrov – Ramzan Djalaldinov, a resident of the village of Kenkhi, and the Chechen woman Aishat Guchigova, living in Europe – make one to be sceptical about relatives' words about another mental illness of a local resident, Ekaterina Sokiryanskaya, Director of the Centre for Conflict Analysis and Prevention, believes.
Chechnya fails to discuss real problems; while fight against critics resembles rituals and theatrical performances, Denis Sokolov, the head of the RAMCOM Research Centre, asserts. The very public discussion of a person's mental health is extremely unethical, he has noted, adding that people's fates are ruined in such "stage productions."
Tatiana Lokshina, the Programme Director of the Human Rights Watch in Russia, called the story that "foreigners poison us with harmful products" to be "conspiracy classics."
The Chechen Ministry of Agriculture has stated that no violations in the sphere of vegetable growing have been detected.
However, many local residents are sure that the information about the harmful vegetables produced in Chechnya is not ungrounded.
