In Sochi, death toll of fire reaches eight people

Today, early in the morning, a fire has broken out in a private apartment building in Sochi. Various sources reported at least nine victims of the fire, including seven dead.

According to the updated information, eight people were killed, and other three were injured in the fire, reported the spokesperson for the regional Ministry for Emergencies (MfE).

"It has been preliminary reported about 8 killed people and other three injured," reported a source as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".

The body of the eighth dead was discovered during the extinguishment of the fire, the "Interfax" reports with reference to a source from the MfE. According to the source, the fire is completely extinguished.

Three persons, including a 16-year-old teenager, were hospitalized after the fire, the "Interfax" was informed at the press service of the City Mayoralty.

A video, posted on YouTube, shows that the burning house is located not far from the sea in a densely built-up area, in close proximity to the railway and the water park. The video shows that the house is engulfed in flames, and a black column of smoke rises to the sky.
