Sochi authorities disclose information about fire victims

The death toll of eight people includes a child, investigators reported. The dead were workers from the CIS countries, who lived in a temporary shelter on a railway right-of-way, the Sochi administration reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that early this morning, a fire has broken out in a private house in Sochi. As a result, eight people were killed, and other three, including a 16-year-old teenager, were hospitalized.

Today, in Sochi, a fire has occurred in a temporary shelter on the territory of Joint-Stock Company (JSC) "Russian Railways", the city administration reported. "According to the preliminary information, eight hired workers from the CIS countries were killed by the fire," reported the spokesman for the Sochi administration. According to him, three persons, including a 16-year-old teenager, were hospitalized with burns of varying severity.

The fire could be caused by an installed char griller, the official noted.

The death toll includes a child, the investigating authorities reported. A criminal case was instituted in connection with the deaths of people in the fire.
