Pressure on journalist suspected

The body of Bekmurza Pachev, 22, was found in the yard of a multi-storey dwelling house in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, Nalchik, with marks of violent death. The young man had been thrown down from an upper floor of the house, according to unofficial information.

The father of the victim, Murtaz Pachev, is one of the leading journalists in Kabardino-Balkaria. He works with a republican radio channel and often subjects various officials to scathing criticism. The public opinion views the murder of the journalist's son as revenge on his father.
