German citizen separated from children treats judgement of Sochi court as inhuman

The Adler Court failed to notify Benjamin Kesser, a citizen of Germany, about the session, at which the court decided to leave his four children with their mother in Russia, and gave him no chance to refute the claimant's statements, his defence asserts. Mr Kesser has appealed against the judgement, treating it as "inhuman."

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Benjamin Kesser accused his wife Alexandra of illegally taking away their common four children to Sochi. On September 19, 2017, a court in Germany found the woman's actions to be illegal. She, in her turn, accused her husband of lecherous actions towards one of their sons.

On July 17, the court in Adler granted Alexandra Kesser's statement and decided to leave all the children with her.

Maxim Schukin, Mr Kesser's advocate, has stated that his client was not informed about the session. "I reminded the judge about this at the court session and asked him to inform Kesser, postpone the trial to give him an opportunity to get a visa and participate in the trial; however, the judge didn't react to my request," the lawyer told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Benjamin Kesser has called his separation from children an inhuman decision, including in relation to his children. "I hope that the court will reconsider its decision after my appeal and will listen to me and my arguments," he said.

He appealed against the court judgement on August 16, said Mikhail Okhrimenko, another advocate.
