Nagorno-Karabakh accuses Azerbaijan of 170 cases of shelling during a week

In the period from August 12 to August 18, the Azerbaijani armed forces made more than 1500 shots at the positions of the Defence Army, reported the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Nagorno-Karabakh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the period from August 5 to 11, Nagorno-Karabakh counted 200 cases when its positions were shelled by Azerbaijan.

"During the period from August 12 to August 18, the Azerbaijani side about 170 times violated the ceasefire in the Karabakh conflict zone. The Azerbaijani armed forces fired more than 1500 shots from small arms of various types against the Karabakh positions," reported the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD as quoted by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

As of 3:50 p.m. Moscow time, the Ministry of Defence for Azerbaijan has not posted any comment on its website regarding the statement voiced by the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD. Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani side regularly claims its positions are being shelled from the Armenian direction and from the territories controlled by the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot", during the week of August 12-18, Azerbaijan counted 604 such cases of shelling. Only during the past day, Azerbaijan registered 81 violations of the ceasefire by the Armenian armed forces.
