Azerbaijan claims shelling of border areas

During the past day, the ceasefire regime on the contact line was violated 94 times, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Azerbaijani reports today. There were no reports about shelling of villages and towns.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 27, Azerbaijan reported 82 cases of shelling from the Armenian side during the day, while the day before ‑ about 78 cases of shelling. In turn, Nagorno-Karabakh accused Azerbaijan of 200 cases of shelling during the week from August 19 to 25.

The armed forces of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have violated the ceasefire, the Azerbaijani MoD has reported on its website today.

From the morning on August 27 to the morning on August 28, the positions of the Azerbaijani army were shelled at the nameless heights in the Gadabay District, and the fire came both from the territory of Armenia and from the areas considered by Azerbaijan as its occupied territories, announced the Azerbaijani MoD in its report.

By 11:20 a.m. Moscow time of today, the websites for the Ministries of Defence for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have not posted any comments on the Azerbaijani MoD's statement.
