South Ossetia hands five detainees over to Georgia

The citizens of Georgia detained for violating the border were released after paying a fine, the South-Ossetia State Security Committee (KGB) has announced.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 28, five residents of Tbilisi, who made their trip to the Truso Gorge, were detained near the delimitation line with South Ossetia. The KGB of South Ossetia said that the tourists would face trial for violating the border. Their transfer to Georgia was scheduled for August 30.

Today, at 3 p.m., the detainees were handed over to Georgia at the "Tskhinvali-Ergneti" checkpoint, the South-Ossetian KGB has reported.

"Five Georgian citizens, natives of Tbilisi, detained on August 28 near Lake Kel of the Dzaus District of South Ossetia, on the court's ruling, after paying the fine, were expelled from the territory of South Ossetia," the "Sputnik-South Ossetia" reports.
