Rights defenders report extradition of Ingushetia native from Ukraine

On September 12, Timur Tumgoev, a native of Ingushetia, suspected of links with Syrian militants, was extradited to Russia at the request of the Russian FSB, sources from the Kharkov Human Rights Group (KhHRG) have stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Tumgoev was detained at the Kharkov Airport in June 2016, where he arrived from Turkey. Russia sought his extradition, since the FSB suspects him of involvement in international terrorist organizations in Syria, banned in Russia.

The General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Ukraine has extradited Timur Tumgoev to Russia, a member of the Vainakh Diaspora in Ukraine has reported. "They said that they gave him out in the morning on September 12," the "Kavkaz.Realii" quoted him as saying on the same day.

The edition has added that the extradition was confirmed by a source from the KhHRG, which carried out legal support of the Tumgoev case.
