On September 10-16, 2018, four persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of September 10-16, 2018, four persons were killed in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. No wounded were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

All four deceased persons were suspected members of the armed underground in Dagestan.

Attacks on law enforcers

On September 13, on the road between the villages of Kostek and Chontaul in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, policemen tried to stop a car to check the driver's documents. However, the man opened fire from the car. He was killed by return fire, and the car caught fire. According to the preliminary information, the policeman was an accomplice of members of a local illegal armed formation (IAF).

Special and counterterrorist operations

At 5:00 a.m. Moscow time on September 15, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced in some areas of the Buynaksk and Karabudakhkent Districts of Dagestan. Law enforcers searched for militants. During a special operation carried out in the area of the Talgi village, law enforcers encountered three militants. When offered to surrender, the suspects opened fire from automatic weapons. Three militants were killed in the shootout. At 1:00 p.m., the CTO legal regime was lifted.
