Despite police threats, Ingushetia starts motor rallies against transfer of lands to Chechnya
Users of the Telegram channels announced the start of mass motor races in Ingushetia in protest against the change of the Chechen-Ingush border. The Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) warned participants of unsanctioned actions about liability.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 26, Ramzan Kadyrov and Yunus-Bek Evkurov signed the agreement on securing the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia amid protests of residents of Ingushetia in the cities of Sunzha and Magas. Users of social networks from Chechnya and Ingushetia criticized the agreement.
The agreement affected the mountainious and wooded areas without villages or towns, the leader of Ingushetia noted.
Today, in Nazran, about 60 cars have gathered for a motor rally to protest against the transfer of lands to Chechnya, the Ingush portal "Mekhk-Khel" reports.
According to Telegram users, motor rally also take place in Magas and Karabulak.
“The protest mood has turned into mass motor rallies. In Karabulak, law enforcers try to stop the protest action," reports the "Glavkom RI" Telegram channel.
The political analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have argued about the conflict potential of the agreement. It looks like a sign for resolution of the dispute between the two republics, but it does not exclude the claims of Chechnya to the territories of neighbouring regions in the future, believe Dmitry Oreshkin and Alexei Gunya. The agreement will end the territorial dispute between the republics, believes Alexei Malashenko.
