Ramzan Kadyrov criticizes opponents of change in Chechen-Ingush border

The leader of Chechnya called on opponents to the change in the Chechen-Ingush border not to create problems for themselves and noted that "they would be brought to responsibility." Residents of Chechnya doubted that the statement could defuse the situation and predicted the intensification of protests in Ingushetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 26, Ramzan Kadyrov and Yunus-Bek Evkurov signed the agreement on securing the border between Chechnya and Ingushetia. On October 1, residents of Ingushetia held mass motor rallies in protest.

Ramzan Kadyrov noted that the issue of border determination had been solved. The Chechen leader suggested that the opponents to the agreement should contact the federal centre.

The Chechen leader also accused residents of Ingushetia of disrespecting their leader and disrespecting himself as a guest.

The agreement was signed against the background of the protests: on September 25, a rally was held in front of the district administration building in Sunzha, and on September 26, at the entrance to Magas.

The leader of Chechnya has emphasized that the Chechens and the Ingush people are "brothers." He called on the opponents "not to create problems for themselves."

"Instead of reducing the intensity of tension over the borders, that can aggravate the situation," said Said-Khusein, a resident of Grozny.
