On October 8-14, five persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
During the week from October 8 to October 14, 2018, five people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, two of them were killed and three – wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.
Both casualties were alleged members of the armed underground in Dagestan.
Special and counterterrorist operations
On October 10, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime, introduced on September 27 in a part of the territory of the Buynaksk and Kumtorklalin Districts of Dagestan, was cancelled.
On October 13, in the village of Endirei of the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, a law enforcer was wounded when inspecting a private house. The house, where the alleged militants were hiding, was blocked; then, law enforcers began an assault. The Khasavyurt District was put under the CTO regime. During the CTO, two alleged militants hiding in the house were killed and later identified as Dagir Gadjiev, 19, Musa Bilalov, 29, residents of Endirei and members of the "Kizilyurt" militant grouping. During the shootout, two special troop fighters and an employee of the "Rosgvardia" (Russian National Guard) were wounded.
