Diaspora members opposed the Ingush-Chechen border agreement

At the Congress of the Ingush People, delegates from foreign Ingush Diasporas expressed their disagreement with the transfer of land to Chechnya and opposed the Ingush-Chechen border agreement. Residents of Chechnya pointed to the negative consequences of the decisions of the congress.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 30, the Ingush Constitutional Court (CC) declared the law on the border with Chechnya unconstitutional.

The head of Ingushetia, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, said that the CC's decision did not cancel the border agreement, since it had already entered into force. According to his version, the issue should be resolved by the CC of the Russian Federation.

The Ingush Diasporas abroad are closely monitoring the situation around the border with Chechnya, said Ramzan Sultygov, a delegate from the Ingush Diaspora in Spain.

According to his story, all Diasporas are "categorically against" the border agreement. It may cause problems in interethnic relations, said Isa Khumatkhanov, a member of the Ingush community in Moscow and Moscow Region.

The World Congress of the Ingush People decided to cancel the Chechen-Ingush agreement on the land exchange, and ask the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, to intervene in the situation, and also to return the direct election of the head of Ingushetia.
