Chechen Parliament publishes republic's map with new border
A new map of Chechnya, indicating the territories that the republic should take over from Ingushetia under the border agreement, has been posted by the Chechen Parliament on its website, on the page "Map of the Chechen Republic" of the section "Chechen Republic", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 30, the Ingush CC declared the law on the border with Chechnya unconstitutional. Yunus-Bek Evkurov, the head of Ingushetia, sent a request to the Russia's CC asking to check the agreement on the Chechen-Ingush border for its compliance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
Since October 4, in Magas, the capital of Ingushetia, there was a mass action against changing the border with Chechnya, which was interrupted in order to get ready for the World Congress of the Ingush People.
The updated map was posted by the Chechen Parliament on November 8. It indicates the territories that are considered as transferred under Chechnya's jurisdiction in accordance with the agreement on the Chechen-Ingush border of September 26, a source from the Chechen Parliament's office told the "Caucasian Knot" on November 9.
The territories, acquired by Chechnya under the agreement, are now parts of the Sunzha and Galanchozh Districts of the republic, the source has specified.
Let us remind you that the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has repeatedly stated that the issue of establishing the Chechen-Ingush border is closed.
